This Heuer Carrera 45 Dato is the absolute epitome of Jack Heuer’s vision of pure legibility and function ahead of all other considerations. All made possible in a design that is arguably the watch that shows this vision off the most. The first Chronograph to ever feature a rotating-disk Datewheel, the dial configuration is sparse and bare. Our example is all original and features a 45 Minute Counter at the 3 O’Clock position, and the date window at 9, which comes down to Heuers mantra of function over form. Still on its original and (now considered) vintage metal Rally Cuff, this piece is in fantastic and unmolested condition. The Chronograph is resetting and keeping time perfectly, as the rest of the watch is. The dial is a fantastic and uniform Silver, the case shows a few signs of wear but overall, considering the watch is from the early 60s/late 70s, is in fantastic condition.
